Remove and Control Harmful Bacteria From Under Your Gums

✓ Eliminate Mouth Odors

✓ Stop Bleeding Gums

✓ Keep Treatments Simple

Similar to other chronic diseases like diabetes...

Periodontal gum infections (also known as periodontal disease, or pyorrhea) are slowly progressing infections of the gums and bone supporting the teeth.  These infections typically progress slowly over years, and mostly go un-noticed by patients.  Similar to other chronic diseases like diabetes or high blood pressure, if periodontal gum infections are noticed by the patient they are usually very advanced and have caused some un-repairable damage.  Also similar to diabetes and high blood pressure, early detection and early treatment better controls the disease, and is simpler.

Controlling The Infection

Periodontal gum infections are challenging to cure, commonly needing a three part approach to get the disease into remission.

Treating Gum Infections Has Multiple Benefits

✓ Elimination of Mouth Odor and Bleeding Gums - an analogy we can use for chronic gum infections would be :

"If a 1-2 inch sized circle on the palm of your hand smelled bad, and bled when you touched it, we would certainly try to fix that. "

✓ Less Complicated and Extensive Dental Care - Treatment of the disease process early, allows the use of simpler, more predictable treatments.  It also avoids the need for extraction of hopelessly damaged, loose teeth if the disease were not treated.

✓ Overall Health Benefits - the science community is now confident that your body having to continuously fight the infection of periodontal disease can worsen numerous health issues.  Including: diabetes, heart disease, Alzheimer's, dementia, pre-term labor, low birth weight, and rheumatoid arthritis.
